Designed by the British Army Corps of Engineers HQ in Roorkee India in the 1890s. This collapsable field chair was popular among military officers and expeditionary interests up until WWII . These comfortable lounge chairs are held together with mortise and tenon joinery and a few leather straps. They knock down easily and fit into a duffle for easy portage. Traditionally made in canvas These chairs are crafted with full grain cowhide for added luxury.

The wood frame is shaped from white oak or mahogany with a linseed oil and beeswax finish. White oak is exceptionally strong and weather resistant. The mahogany has beautiful coloring and resistant to moisture.
The amber/rust color is hand dyed. The black and green are vat dyed from premium veg tanned bridle leather. Hand stitched, set with solid brass and copper hardware these chairs are crafted for comfort and durability.
Adjusts to uneven terrain in the field.
