Acorn Awk Sail Boat

This was a family project. My father and I built this little boat over the course of 6 years; squeezing in a few hours here and there on each visit home. Even my brother would come and help on the boat some weekends. It was a terrific bonding experience for the family and a great learning experience for me. Made of mahogany and white oak with marine grade okume plywood this little boat is just under 8ft long. It is held together with lots of epoxy and brass screws. The original plans were designed by Ian Oughtred the famous boat small boat designer. Named THE AWKLET, It currently resides in Coos Bay Oregon with my father and stepmother.
